New Delhi, September 04, 2021: “The new education system must meet the need of emerging development priorities of the society and to realize this role of educators and teachers become quite important,” said His Excellency Dr. Roger Gopaul, Ambassador of Trindad and Tobago while speaking as Chief Cuest during 1st LEAD (Leader’s Excellence, Achievers’ Diamond) Global Conclave on theme ‘India@75 - Preparing for New Education Policy: Roadmap for Vision to Action,’ organized by Indian Observer Post on 4th September 2021 at India International Centre, New Delhi while celebrating forthcoming Teachers’ Day 5th September. Urging the educators to prepare for a nation-wide change in education, Ambassador Gopaul highlighted how Trinidad and Tobago transformed to knowledge society by reforming education.
Justice Rakesh Tiwari, former Acting Chief Justice of Kolkata High Court, while presiding the Conclave said, “The role of teachers is critical in improving education system of the country and therefore, this is high time for the Gurus to make all efforts in improving the education with passion and commitment.”
Guest of HonourProf. K.K. Aggarwal, Chairperson of National Board for Accreditation (NBA) highlighted the outcome-focused feature of India’s New Education Policy and said that it is first such comprehensive document in the history of education policy in India, which descrbies expected educational outcome at all levels from pre-primary to post-doctoral level education.
Guest of Honour, Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities highlighted the distinct features of New Education Policy and elaborated how the new policy could revolutionize Indian higher education through different planned innovations in terms of academic reforms.
Noted academician and Guest of Honour Prof. Prem Vrat, Former Vice Chancellor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam UP Technical University, Lucknow stressed about the need for changes in teaching methodologies to make the learning inclusive, relevant and impact focused.
Prof. Ranbir Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Delhi Law University highlighted the required areas of changes in view of implementing new education policy 2020.
Guest of Honour Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur proposed a five-stage model for systematic and phased-wise implementation of New Education Policy 2020. Prof. Jaiswal also highlighted how the context-specific knowledge creation has become essential for effective education.
Ambassador Anup Mudgal, former High Commissioner of India to Mauritius elaborated on the role of educators for social economic transformation of the country.
The programme started with welcome address by the organizing secretary Shri Onkarewhar Pandey followed by theme introduction by Prof. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad. Mr. Pooran Chandra Pandey, former CEO Dialogue of Civilizations Berlin presented the concluding remarks and vote of thanks.
