WHY emotional connect has no basis in the so-called professional world, integrity empathy is an alien concept altogether, basic question for all the internal stakeholders of the organization – where are we going wrong, why the young or any age generation alive today has either no faith in leadership nor a concept of Good Leadership.

“Seene mein jalan . ankhon mein toofan sa kun hai, Es Shaher mein har shaqs pareshan sa kun hai”. - few lines of an old songs that keeps ringing a bell has manifested in making me pen a few lines down.
Being an integral part of Human Resource for more than a decade, putting it mildly, I am taking the liberty to bring to your attention, what everyone talks about in any organization these days Good Leadership Skills - either one is affected by it or is a victim of it—therefore will not be talking about the niched statements attached to HR parlance for E.g. Building Performance Effectively, Being Business Partners, Aligning Performance with the organisation Objectives and Goals, Best Talent Practices, Etc., but about the legacy we are leaving behind for the present and future generation as leaders sitting in highly respective and responsible positions.
As a result of extremely poor display of a good leadership - largely all organisations are looking for external agencies to help diagnose their internal health of the organisation – fancier the tools – better the impression- pardon the pun, for Empathy building/Compassion/ Collaborative approach/Building Trust!! WHY?
In case it is for enforcing these values/ Ethos-seems highly promising, otherwise we really need to look inwards- are we nurturing sycophancy because we are compromising on Competency!! We want to achieve our goals at any cost- without looking back at the emotional trauma or damaged people we left behind.

WHAT chaos are we leaving behind!
Do we walk in with a smile and leave the Team with a Smile?
Do we walk in with a purpose and leave the team with an aspiration?
Do we trust and have faith in each other as a Team?
Leaving you all or to whom it matters with a thought- why building a connect has become a distant proposition, why holding each other’s hands at the time of crisis/adversity has lost its charm, why few have the guts to take responsibility/accountability on their shoulders- playing blame games have become the new norm or passing the buck.
It is very rightly said people do not leave company, they leave Managers, at times the reasons are so not human that one is ashamed even to mention them, where has the humanness gone, in spite of the Pandemic which taught the world the biggest lessons of life- we pretend ignorance on being human to each other.
The question arises is are leaders born or can be made- highly debateable, more the reason that we should have the right people in the right place for the right reasons so that the DNA of an organisation does not get corrupted, people practice what they see.
It is an established fact that Humans are highly Contagious – Instead of spreading viral infections, may we infect each other with happiness / Confidence and Emotional Connect to make any work place a better place.
Can we become Good Leaders who can be emulated by the juniors admired by the Peers and respected by the Seniors- Can We!!
