Indian Observer Post

Guwahati [Assam], Oct 12, 2018: Concerned with the poor health infrastructure in the NE states, which fall below many national health parameters, two beautiful girls of Assam has taken an initiative through a start up to provide health care facilities to provide to every citizen of the region.

Health DNA is an initiative started by a group of professionals led by two girls Rumi Borah and Monalisa Gogoi who belongs to Assam. The startup has planned to provide door to door medicines and other medical facilities in the all seven states of the North East.

“It's a well-known fact that despite the continuous effort of Government, the rural health status of North-East India is not at all satisfactory. The incidence of untreated illness is quite high. The crucial problems identified are lack of medical professionals, shortage of medicine and medical equipment, over crowdedness in the government hospitals etc. So keeping these scenarios in mind we started our journey here,” said Rumi Borah, founder of this startup Health DNA, while talking to the Indian Observer Post in Guwahati. Rumi Borah is a young visionary entrepreneur, focused to strengthen Social Impact Organisations through Sustainable Development. An MBA in HR & Marketing, Rumi has More than 12 years of Experience in New Business Development ,Strategic Alliances, Activation and P & L Management in Indian MNCs.

“Health DNA is committed to improve the health of entire rural North-East India by providing superior, patient centered cost effective care in a safe compassionate environment,” said Monalisa Gogoi, the co-founder of Health DNA. Monalisa Gogoi is one of northeast India's foremost business leaders and an entrepreneur with nearly one decades of experience in industries including Media, Human Rights, education and e-rural healthcare. She worked with Media Venture The Sunday Indian, I9 Media, Madhupur, Aji, Hindustan Times,The pioneer, India Today, Travel etc. She is truly passionate about her work and always eager to connect with other marketers.

“Consumer health care is gaining credibility among customers with long-term needs. So Health DNA is focused on Telemedicine, Diagnostic and pathology, home health care and medicine delivery. At present Health DNA is activated in lower and middle Assam,’ Rumi said.

The startup offers home visits of doctor, nurses and technicians for the patients. It helps patients to communicate with a network of doctors and provides long term intervention. Best health care facilities is everyone's right and it can't be possible by one person or one organization. So we are building a one-stop platform for -doctor consultation, -lab test at home, medicine delivery at home and medical tourism. We have joined forces to create a platform so that best healthcare facilities van be reached to every citizen of India.

Health DNA is the only Health Platform for the interest of health community development in North-East India. Due to various factors such as poverty, lack of adequate excess to quality health care etc. the health care scenario in rural areas are very poor. Addressing these issues HealthDNA organised a Health event in association with Mintlime, ExcelCare Hospital and an NGO Global Friendship Society on last 30th September 2018 in Polashbari Guwahati (Assam) focusing on heart health. As part of the health camp, doctor provided consultation, counseling and medicine free of cost. They also provided lab tests, E.C.G. in reasonable rates. Apart from these Health DNA also distributed free medical kits and arranged health awareness talk. In the health events, around 300 people participated and gave satisfactory remarks regarding the overall event.

“We wish to serve the people by bringing entire health community of North East closer to them by collective efforts to reach sustainable growth and development so that better health care could be provided to all,” said Monalisa Gogoi, co-founder of Health DNA.

Rumi Borah stated that due to lack of health regulatory policies, poor private investments, demographic imbalance and geo-political situations, the health sector in the North East states has not been able to notch up a level.

“Health DNA will make all possible efforts so that an arrangement could be made, a supply chain could be developed to provide medicines and important medical support or facilities to poorest of the poor people in minimum possible time limit,” Monalisa Gogoi said.

“The startup will also focus on medical tourism. It has already joined hands to launch a mobile app. The idea behind this Mobile App is, that through this single app, everyone can easily access it's services,” Rumi said.
