Third CHIMERA 2018: AMRAPALI’s Mega Cultural Event Ends in Guwahati

Northeast India’s foremost socio-cultural organization AMRAPALI (Society for ARTS) recently organized the Cultural Extravaganza & Prize Distribution Ceremony of their 3rd CHIMERA 2018, the Mega Cultural Event for Students on November 2, 2018 at District Library, Guwahati. The event was celebrated with grandeur wherein Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was the Chief Guest along with Guests of Honour Dr. Arun Kumar Sarma, Former Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, Assam Downtown University and Sri Drona Bhagawati, Author and Social Activist.
The 3rd Chimera 2018 had 20 competitions this year for students from Nursery to Class XII in various categories like Dance, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Creative Writing, Art, Children Fashion Show, Greeting Card Making, Children Fashion Show, etc. and the International Youth Arts Olympiad, the first ever Olympiad upon arts, culture and heritage. Students from different schools and also from districts like Sonitpur, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Mangaldoi, etc. actively participated. The competitions were organized from October 27th to 29th at South Point School, Barsapara, St. Francis De Sales School, Narengi and Kanaklal Barua Bhawan auditorium, Directorate of Assam State Museum, Guwahati.
The Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said, “I acknowledge the role of Amrapali in conceiving the designing the events like the Chimera which enters its third edition late time around. I thank Amrapali for taking the initiative for lighting and awakening our children for art and culture. I highly appreciate Amrapali for its untiring efforts and playing the role of an important catalyst in bringing about the positive impact in the growth directly to our children”.
