According to the president of AGP and cabinet minister who had declared his resignation today on January 7, 2019 in Delhi Atul Bora says 'We have come to know after a long discussion with union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that the govt would ensure that the bill will be passed on Tuesday in the Parliament .So, there is no question of remaining in alliance with BJP'.

On the other hand, thirty organizations led by All Assam Students Union has declared 12 hours North East Bandh on 8th of January 2019 to oppose the citizenship amendment bill.
Another 70 organizations led by KMSS and AJYCP also has supported the bandh of tomorrow declared by AASU .Another two political parties Congress and AGP also have extended their full support to this bandh tomorrow .
