New Delhi, Feb 24, 2019: The stage is set now with the UN Security Council, which includes China having declared support against Jaish e Mohd and its Chief Masood Azhar.

Escalations, however, will not yield the desired results. Hence taking out this person and maybe, destruction of his camp would meet the requirement.

This could be done through remotely controlled weapons or aerial action.

There is a need to fight smart, save casualties and demonstrate our capability to act in a mature, balanced and elevated manner which gives an example for others to follow.

We have informed most Countries, taken them into confidence, given some time to the Armed Forces to plan and prepare deliberately, prepared the public mood and taken the opposition parties also in confidence

Strategically this will be an opportune time to act fast and decisively now, as any delay can create hurdles. Trump and China can give contra-indications and start influencing soon to prevent a conflict.

We will do well to initially create a bigger noise, then scale down our action to a level which we actually have planned and thus give the bigger players a face-saving to say that they got it scaled down thus keeping their relationship with Pakistan within the frame on one hand and their defence industries thriving on the other.

In keeping with its policies, China would like the conflict to escalate so that its clout and influence continues to matter.

However, it will continue to support Pakistan for obvious reasons of development of OBOR, CPEC and optimum exploitation of Gwadar which leads to cost-efficient transhipment of goods.

All the above offers windows which can be exploited for creating an absolutely new image of emerging New India which can act in order to further its National Interests on one hand, act against terror in keeping with GWOT, offer a stable environment for investment and development in India.

The aftermath of Pulwama has also created a general mood across the country which must be used to act for fulfilling other actions in long term National interest, hitherto pending for few decades.

In doing so the spreading of the irrigation network by utilising the waters from the rivers which have so far not been utilised and also create opportunities for investment and greater opportunity for establishing new industries by doing away with Article 35A followed by such announcements by few industries.

This coupled with the setting up of new academic institutes of excellence recently will create real opportunities for the Kashmir youth.

Although numerous actions are required in a short time frame, however, these will convey the genuine intent of the Government in a solution provider mode rather than doing something purely for electoral gains.
