Two youth -- Tsering Wangdi and Viki Raja were killed in ITBP firing while proceeding to the chief minister’s private bungalow last Saturday. Their bodies were taken to North Lakhimpur in Assam for post mortem after local doctors here refused to do so.
Pario said that he had spoken to Papum Pare DC and asked why there was a delay in getting a signature to transport the bodies by Lower Subansiri Superintendent of Police and the investigating officer to North Lakhimpur.
He said the incumbent government had lost the right to rule and demanded the sacking of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Union Minister of State (Home) Kiren Rijiju. He also asked for a high level inquiry into the entire episode by a sitting or retired high court chief justice.
He also drew the governor’s attention to an ongoing RWD scam involving the illegal collection of six percent of total sanctioned amount from contractors of new PMGSY projects and two percent at second stage of those projects by RWD officers allegedly on behalf of RWD Minister Bamang Felix in connivance with Chief Minister Khandu to mobilise funds for ensuing elections.
Pario was accompanied with MLA Markio Tado, former APCC president Padi Richo, general secretaries Bam Maching, Charu Tuglo and Toko Meena.
It may be mentioned here that APCC president Takam Sanjoy had hinted about submitting a memorandum to the governor besides moving the CBI to seek a probe last week.
