Perceptible Paradigm Shift in India's Pak and Terror Policy

By Major Saras C Tripathi

New Delhi, March 04, 2019: There is a perceptible paradigm shift in India’s policy towards Pakistan, Kashmir, and terrorism in Kashmir. Pakistan neither has money, weapons, ordnance; nor international support to fight a war with India. It was already a rogue and bankrupt nation now it has been exposed. Fear psychosis of nuclear war has been broken. This is the biggest paradigm shift in the policy of the present NDA government.

Of late, India realised a hard truth "If the fight/brawl is in your drawing room, even if you win; it is your furniture, antiques, and crockery that will be damaged."
The same thing was happening in India. India was fighting very bravely but the fight was in our own drawing room. Now Mr. Modi has shifted the battlefield from own drawing room to the enemy's courtyard.

Following are visible and noticeable steps that indicate a paradigm shift in the policy of the present government in tackling terrorism:

One, if terrorists strike within India; counter strike will be in Pakistani territory, the nursery and fountainhead of terrorism. By striking at the terrorist camps as deep as Balakot (North-Western region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, almost 260 km deep inside Pakistan from the LOC) clear message was sent to Pakistan and all terror outfits operating from there: “we will hit where it hurt”.

Two, from defensive now it will be offensive operation; instead of running behind terrorists who have fired or carried out blasts, it will be now sought, search and destroy. 100 companies (approximately 20,000 troopers) of CAPF have been inducted in the valley last month to assist the Army to carry out more intensive operations. The game plan is to free regular Army for core duties of military operations.

Three, no soft paddling, anymore, with over ground radicals; who are ideological fathers of the terrorists. They will be banned, arrested and jailed: Hurriyat, Jamat-e-Islami and all others.

Four, self-styled "freedom fighters" have been “freed” from security cover. Now they can freely fight for their "Azadi" without "government spies" around. The privilege of abusing the same troops that were protecting these treacherous men has been brought to an end.

Five, displace Pakistan from every possible international forum. Forcing Pakistan to stay away from OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) is one but a truly unbelievable example of this diplomacy.

It is unimaginable that second biggest intergovernmental organization of the world, after the UNO, the OIC has not given any weight to Pakistan's threats and boycott. India, a non-Islamic country was invited as "guest of honour" and Pakistan, a theocratic Islamic nation couldn't enter, in an organization that consists of 100% Islamic nations.

India has taken revenge from Pakistan for its ouster from the OIC in 1969. On 24 Sept 1969, when OIC had convened its founding-first-conference in Rabat (capital of Morocco), on the insistence of Pakistan, the Indian delegation led by Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed was not allowed to participate. Resultantly, they had to return with the feeling of humiliation.

Today India is “guest of honour” at OIC meet at Abu Dhabi and Pakistan is outside the conference.

Six, greater synergies among three services, Intelligence agencies, CAPFs involved in CI ops.

Seven, strong stand on “no talk” with pseudo-peaceniks and unreliable Pakistani leadership.

A strong message to the world community: "Anyone, who is with my enemy, is my enemy." Canadian PM was shown his place for sympathizing with the separatist Sikh lobby that is on the payrolls of ISI. When he visited India he was not given even appropriate protocol, invariably given to a head of government.

Nine, change in the image of India from a "soft state" to a tough state". Tenth, engage every small and big country/organization on every front and at every level: diplomatic, military, economy, trade and commerce, culture etc, and isolate Pakistan.
The credit surely goes to the present government under the PM, Sri Narendra Modi.

By using Air Force to strike at the terrorist camps, a psychological barrier has been broken that if we strike, it may lead to nuclear war. Pakistani bluff has been called. The nuclear blackmail has been killed forever.

Pakistan neither has money, weapons, ordnance; nor international support to fight a war with India. It was already a rogue and bankrupt nation now it has been exposed. Fear psychosis of nuclear war has been broken. This is the biggest paradigm shift in the policy of present NDA government.
