Punjab CM Performed Kar Sewa at Durgiana Temple Amritsar

Amritsar [Punjab], March 06, 2019: Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh performed Kar Sewa (voluntarily Sevice) of the sacred Sarovar (pool) at the durgiana temple at Amritsar on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri festival.

CM Amarinder Singh announced a grant of rs.1 crore for the development of the temple and also assured the management for additional land for the expension of the holy precincts.

It is the third Kar Sewa in the last 40 years. Earlier it was held in 1975 and 1999, locals said. Thousands of devotees are expected to do Kar Sewa from all around the world.

The durgiana temple is managed by the Durgiana Committee headed by Ramesh Chander.
The durgiana temple was built in 1921 in the Golden temple architectural style. The temple complex has many other historic temples such as luxmi narayana, sheetla maa and bara hanuman temple.
