As per the present political scenario in Assam, the Citizenship amendment bill and the NRC would play a key role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP recently lost a key ally in Assom Gana Parishad (AGP) after CAB was passed in the Lok Sabha.

The AGP is likely to go alone to polls in Assam. A triangular fight is expected in Assam this time between the BJP, the Congress & the AGP in upper Assam & BJP, Congress & AIUDF in lower Assam.

“Election Commission will be very strict regarding the expenditure of the candidates and people can send their complaint through a mobile app to the commission,” the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam Shri Mukesh Sahu said while flagging off ‘Run for Vote’ programme organized by State Election Commission in collaboration with Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration at Latasil Playground, Guwahati on March 11, 2019.
