Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt said, “Every citizen of India must feel responsible and emotional for our soldiers. As musicians, we can express our sorrow through our musical notes. The Kirwani Raag expresses melancholic mood, which is my tribute to the Pulwama martyrs. Let us transform the melancholy to happiness by tributing them the Hansadhwani Raag which stands for happiness.”
In the words of Gautam De, Regional Director (Kolkata) of ICCR, “In recent times, the ugly head of terrorism has raised its head in the horizon. In these circumstances, music can bring peace and tranquillity in the world. By this humble initiative of ICCR Kolkata, we bring to platform a trio of world-renowned musicians enabling them to perform in the Satyajit Ray Auditorium. I hope that this kind of musical event will spread the message of love and harmony among people in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.”
This musical event adorned by fusion music from Indian maestros was an artistic treat for the music buffs of Kolkata.
The past 3 years, in particular, have seen a vibrant increase in the ICCR’s cultural activities and in 2017 the occupancy of the forum was 95%, one of the highest in its history.
