New Delhi, April 02, 2019: With the core focus on creating Wealth and Welfare of the people of India, Congress President Rahul Gandhi today announced Congress Party’s manifesto for 2019 general election. He announced five big Ideas of Congress manifesto.

Here are his ‘Five big Ideas of Congress Manifesto’:

GST and Nyay Scheme

"They did demonetisation and Gabbar Singh Tax. We will give NYAY and a real GST. NYAYSurgical Strike on Poverty 72,000 Rs a year to India's poorest 20%".

In nutshell, we will give 72,000 Rs a year to India's poorest 20%.

Jobs and employment

Jobs – 22 Lakhs Govt jobs by March 2010, 10 Lakhs

Today, there are 22 Lakh job vacancies in Government. We will have these vacancies filled by 31st March 2020. We will employ lakhs of rural youth in our gram sabhas to improve the environment.

MNREGEA – Now Congress will ensure 150 days job per year in this scheme.

Kisaan Budget – This will be our historical step for the welfare of our poor farmers. If a farmer is not able to pay the loans to the Bank, it will not be considered a criminal offense.

Education – We will ensure 6 percent budget of GDP on education.

Health – We will strengthen government health scheme with ensuring high-quality health facilities. We cannot rely on the insurance based private health scheme offered by the present government. We will ensure the devolution of funds from the Center to each State Govt for healthcare.

Earlier, in his tweets from @RahulGandhi, the official account of the Congress President, Rahul Gandhi had already outlined much of what the party’s manifesto was announced today.

He asked why the Prime Minister is afraid of facing the people of India. Why he is not facing the media? The fact is he has become afraid.

The issue in this election is unemployment, farmers and Gabbar Singh Tax, he said.

NITI Aayog

"If voted to power, we will scrap the NITI Aayog. It has served no purpose other than making marketing presentations for the PM & fudging data. We will replace it with a lean Planning Commission whose members will be renowned economists & experts with less than 100 staff," Gandi had said earlier.

The Congress president also promised to provide a business friendly government, if voted to power.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Youngsters, Want to start a new business. Want to create jobs for India. Here's our plan for you.”

1. ZERO permissions for the first 3 years of any new business.

2. Goodbye Angel Tax

3. Solid incentives & tax credits based on how many jobs you create.

4. Easy Bank Credit"

The manifesto document was released by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and all top party leaders, including former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, P Chidambaram, Rajeev Gowda and others at the party's Akbar Road headquarters.

Rahul Gandhi said that his party’s manifesto reflects the people's voice and not just one man's view, while making a clear reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also said party’s manifesto lays major thrust on jobs creation, addressing agrarian distress and strengthening the education and health sectors besides charting a roadmap to boost economic growth.

The Congress document is the result of extensive nationwide consultations is a very "powerful" document aimed at redressing key challenges facing the nation, Gandhi said.

The Congress had initiated a consultation process across the country and many of its top leaders had interacted with a host of people from different sections to seek their views on their aspirations from the party, former finance minister P Chidambaram said. The party's manifesto committee was headed by former finance minister P Chidambaram.
