"While the Chief Commissioner of Manipur abolished Pass and Permit System on November 18, 1950, the people of Manipur have been shouting for re-introduction of the permit system or a similar mechanism but through the Central Government brought out Citizen Amendment Bill, 2016. This kind of step-motherly treatment of the Government of India towards the North Eastern people is unacceptable in any way," he said.
