- CTW is organised by National School of Drama’s Children Theatre Wing, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world.
- CTW is production oriented theatre workshop of one month. This year NSD has organized the workshop in Delhi and very remote villages of Odisha, i.e. Harichandanpur, Dist. Keonjhar and Pallahara Dist Angul .
- The plays produced during the workshop will be showcased at respective locations i.e. Delhi (from 18 June 2019 to 23 June 2019) and Odisha (on 18th June and 20th June 2019) in Delhi.
New Delhi, June 18, 2019: Every year CTW is organised by National School of Drama’s Children Theatre Wing for children of age between 8 to 16 years. CTW is production oriented workshop organized for a month from mid of May to June during the school holidays.
This year NSD has organized the workshop in Delhi and very remote villages of Odisha i.e. Harichandanpur and Pallahara. The plays produced during the workshop will showcased at respective location i.e. Delhi and Odisha.
All three workshops at Delhi are organized by National School of Drama’s Children theatre Wing in Collaboration with National Gallery of Modern Art India Gate, New Delhi (NGMA).
The workshops are held at the beautiful campus of NGMA. During the workshop at Delhi, three productions are prepared on the plays of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. This is a small tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his 158th birth anniversary by National School of Drama.
Similarly, one production is also prepared at both locations of Odisha i.e.Village Harichandanpur and Village Pallahara. The production will be showcased on 18 June 2019 at Village Harichandanpur and on 20 June 2019 at Village Pallahara.
During the training period, our directors of the workshop focus to enhance children imagination, concentration and improvisation of communication skills. Children were trained to express feelings and to keep body and mind fit through several activities like theatre games, playing and handling the different props, execution of emotions, worked on memory, music, creation of story with individuals and in groups.
