Vijaya Bharti Sing a Song for Indian Soldiers Posted In Kashmir
Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah's tireless efforts to bring peace and prosperity in the Kashmir Valley, after scrapping Article-370, Vijaya Bharti, India's famous folk singer, has sung a song for the Indian Soldiers posted in Jammu and Kashmir and also for those who are deployed on borders.

New Delhi, Aug 15, 2019: Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah's tireless efforts to bring peace and prosperity in the Kashmir Valley, after scrapping Article-370, Vijaya Bharti, India's famous folk singer, has sung a song for the Indian Soldiers posted in Jammu and Kashmir and also for those who are deployed on India's borders.
Recently, Vijaya had collected and sung rare Bhojpuri folk songs, related to Mahatma Gandhi and 'Azadi' which were sung during India's freedom movement, on the occasion of Gandhi's 150th Birth anniversary. This programme was organised by IGNCA, in New Delhi.
On Sunday, 18 August 2019, Vijaya will be performing patriotic songs in the Meghdoot Open Theatre at, Sangeet Natak Academy in Delhi.
Last year, she had received a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who invited her to join and support the 'Beti-Bachao-Beti-Padhao' mission and also the awareness programme for malnutrition.
Vijaya Bharti is a famous name in the world of colorful Indian folk. Although Vijaya sings in 18 Indian languages, people associate her with Bhojpuri folk music. Away from the vulgarity that's often associated with Bhojpuri music, Vijaya has created a cult status for the rich music of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the cultural and musical brilliance of these regions.
Apart from Bhojpuri, which is her forte, Vijaya sings in Maithali, Angika, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Bengali, Assamese, Gadhwali, Gujrati, Haryanavi, Marathi and many more languages. Besides being a good singer Vijaya is a Writer, Composer, and Singer of repute. Her ability to write and compose her songs, which are soaked in the fragrance of Indian soil, makes her one of the leading flag bearers of the Indian folk music. Most of her songs are self written and self composed.
She has given more than 1000 live performances across India and has won the hearts of millions of her fans in Delhi, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Balia, Jhansi, Bhopal, Raipur, Guwahati, Shillong, Calcutta, Jammu, and many other places in India.
Due to her versatility, the known Bhojpuri singer has got popularity in countries like UK, Russia, Nepal, Mauritius, Holland, Belgium, the Caribbean islands etc.
Till date, more than a dozen of her music albums have been released by audio companies like T SERIES, VENUS, TIPS,RAMA. BHARTI, NEELAM cassettes etc. She has given a new dimension to the Indian folk music by experimenting and promoting traditional song and tunes.
She is also a famous TV personality. She often appears on various TV channels of India in number of TV programs.
She hosted the morning show Bihane Bihane on the leading Bhojpuri channel MAHUA continuously for FOUR Years and made a record.

Vijaya is an impaneled A-Grade artist of All India Radio AIR in the folk music category and also sings and appears on Doordarshan regularly. She is also impaneled with ICCR and has performed in many countries.
She has also been performing regularly in various programs organised by NCZCC, Cultural Departments of UP, Bihar, MP, Delhi and other States.
Vijaya is known for her class, graceful, non-vulgar and melodious performances all over the country and abroad.
