Ahmedabad, Nov 2, 2019: Students Police Cadets of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad, and Diwan Balu Bhai School, Paldi, Ahmedabad are feeling proud for getting chance to parade on the occasion of Ekta Divas at the statue of unity on 31st of Oct 2019. Over 200 students of JNV Ahmedabad and Diwan Balu Bhai performed in the presence of PM Narendra Modi.

“DGP Mr. Shivanand Jha, DIG VK. Mall chief of Students Police Cadets (SPC) Gujarat, DIG Tomar and DIG Piyush Patel played major role to make this mega event grand successful for National integration in which 48 selected members of Police forces from all over India also took part. The unity oath-taking ceremony by PM Narendra Modi was the main attraction of the program,” said Mr. MK Singh, Senior Teacher and In Charge of the parade from JNV Ahmedabad.

The entire students’ police cadets of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad, and Diwan Balu Bhai School, Ahmedabad were so excited and felt proud while participating in this Ekta divas parade because the Program was arranged by Gujarat Police and it was performed in front of Prime Minister of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 144th birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia in Gujarat.

"Centuries ago India was united by Chanakya, and after that Sardar Patel did it. No country embraces diversity like India. Our unity is the best tribute we can pay to Sardar Patel," PM Modi said while speaking at the event organised on the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. PM Modi credited Patel for unification and said diversity is our strength, not weakness.

Raking up Article 370, PM Modi dedicated its abrogation to Sardar Patel. "Article 370 was a wall that has gone now," PM Modi said.

JNV Ahmedabad is among 32 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of Gujarat state which is running in different 32 districts.

JNV Ahmedabad was started at the temporary site of Leprosy Hospital Building, Old Court, Narol for the academic year 2017-18 and now it has been shifted to permanent site-building at Hathijann Gam Village,Ta Vatwa, Dist Ahmedabad. It spreads over 10 acres of land.

At present, JNV Ahmedabad is having Class VI to VIIl and students are studying and residing in this Vidyalaya.                        

"In 2017-18 and 2018-19, during a very short academic period, under the dynamic leadership of the Principal Mr. RK Dixit the JNV Ahmedabad has organized many programmes which were highly appreciated," said Mr. MK Singh, who is also one of the founder Teacher of JNV Ahmedabad.

At present 598 JNVs are functioning in all over India including nine union territories. These are completely residential, co-educational institutions start from Class-VI to XII affiliated to CBSE.  

It is important to mention here that, in Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, students are provided with free lodging and boarding facilities as well as students are provided books, stationery, toiletry items, uniform etc at free of cost by Govt. of India.
