Amity Holds Webinar on Vital Communication Skills in Times of Turbulence

Noida: Communication becomes even more important at the time of turbulence as we all are working from home, so effective speaking and writing is the need of the hour. Soft Skills are vital today for job sustainability, said Siddharth Saxena an Amity Alumni and journalist from Times of India.

He was speaking at a Webinar on ‘Vital Communication Skills in Times of Turbulence’, organised by Amity University Noida on April 16, 2020. This virtual learning webinar session on Cisco - Webex was conducted live for global audiences by Associate Professor Kavita Thapliyal under the esteemed guidance of Group Vice Chancellor Dr. Gurinder Singh and Mentorship of Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan.

Dr. Gurinder Singh, a renowned scholar & academician in the area of International Business who was present during the webinar, spoke how Amity University has taken the lead in initiating Virtual Learning & Research Programs among educational institutions due to their dynamic and foresighted Leadership of Dr. Atul Chauhan.

Amity has been conducting regular online classes, webinars, industry interaction sessions, internships and admission integrations from day one of the lockdown. Dr. Singh further spoke on the communication nuances and its vitality for leadership management. As per him effective communication is used by stable actors to make sense of changes in their environment and to collaborate to obtain goals.

The enriched session was attended by over 250 people globally, outlined the Risk Management and Resilience Integration of Organizations through Effective Communication Models. Prof. Kavita Thapliyal of AIBS outlined that the current lockdown made us realize that true knowledge in real sense grows by sharing learning’s with anyone, by any means and from any place. Communication is a skill that one can learn trough expressing, and in tough times it requires much more precision and perfection as every word counts. Effective Communication is an art of connecting mind and soul. If you’re willing to work on it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life.The mind is like water, when it's turbulent, it's difficult to see when it's calm, everything becomes clear (Gautam Buddha).

Also that the right balance of communication by machine and humans can bridge the gap in times of Turbulence. In today’s’ fast paced world, change or disruptions are not an exception but a constant presence. Major changes in society cause shifting views on interests held and new issues to be debated. Change comes with frictions and new problems, but it also brings new chances. Option Adaption Integration is the key for sustainability in times of crisis. This is what work life balance is all about. The interactive webinar was followed by various questions from students, faculty and industry captains.

Ms. Anudeep, a tax consultant at Deloitte expressed that cross cultural communication are very important in multinational organizations. It is very important, what we speak, where we speak and how we speak.

Ms. Tulika Hora an export entrepreneur spoke on the essentiality of business correspondence in today’s virtual world and the brighter prospects emerging out of the present scenario.

Dr. Seema Sahai, an IT expert articulated on the amalgamation of man, machine and language in the current context.

All other questions were answered by Prof. Kavita Thapliyal aptly, through her Novel Communication Model for Combating Turbulences (NCMCT) by seamlessly adapting to Fear, Learning and Development.
